Welcome!!

Welcome to The Footnote Years!

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!!!! I’m so excited that you’re reading this. Part of the reason I made this blog is because Substack and Pinterest have become my main social media outlets, and honestly, they’ve been helping me romanticize my life in the best way. There’s something beautiful about slowing down and realizing that a lot of the things we go through are deeply shared. That connection can be comforting, wherever you are in life.

I’ve been thinking about starting this for a while, and every time I work on it, it feels like my own little escape. I don’t exactly know what I’ll post here – this space might turn into my journal published for the world to see. Every part of this blog is basically a peek into my brain (as chaotic as it is), and I hope at some point, something I write speaks to you.

I called this website The Footnote Years because I feel like our twenties are filled with so many small things that shape us, even if they’re just in the footnotes of our final story. All of our crashouts, learning moments, side quests, they’re all important to who we end up becoming. Even if it feels terrible in the moment, I know I’ll want to remember everything when I get to where I want to be.

To help you get to know me, and maybe decide if you want to stick around, here are some things about me:

  • I’m 22 but I mentally feel like I’m still 17
  • I’m watching Bratz Rock Angelz while I’m writing this
  • I think nostalgia will actually be the death of me
  • I love reading and I will absolutely be doing book reviews
  • Making everything in my life aesthetic makes me look forward to everything more
  • I love cheese
  • I believe all my crazy dreams are signs for something and I will also be writing about those
  • My first lip liner genuinely changed my life
  • I’m a reformed people pleaser (I relapse sometimes)

This blog will probably be a mix of:

  • Stream of consciousness
  • Books, movies, TV shows I love
  • Nostalgic spirals
  • Things I’ve learned
  • My thoughts on the world right now
  • Overanalyzing my dreams
  • Products I love
  • Literally anything and everything

If you just need something to relate to, an escape from something, or just want to spiral with someone, this is the space for you. Thank you for being here! I hope you stay for a while 🙂
